Turnipseed the tooth faerie

The Little People have a big problem! This little group of faeries and sprites -with a good sprinkling of Leprechauns and the Tooth Faerie-escaped from a dreadful struggle in the broadleaf oak forests of 1750 England and settled in a similar forest near what will become the Orlan Grove Forest Preserve in a southwest Chicago suburb two hundred years later. Only now they are fairly modern -- stealthily so - with television and electricity siphoned (that is the only kind word for a little theft) from light posts along the walking paths in the Orlan Grove Forest Preserve!. Their immediate problem, unfortunately, involves Brimble, one of the two Leprechauns who each night guard the pot of precious gold the little people have managed to amass - gold that lies hidden in a small cave deep in the heart of the little land. You see, Brimble did not come home last night! And if Brimble is exposed to the sunlight, or even daylight --the Little People will tell you the Leprechauns will turn ugly, milky white and disappear! (No one has actually seen that happen, but they don't take chances, do they? Nor would you!) But Lars, the Faerie King, and Turnipseed, the Tooth Faerie, believe they know where Brimble is! Or rather, who is probably holding him at rasnsom! Come join the search for Brimble and be part of the adventures of the Little People with their enchanted friends, the mice, and frogs and pigs! Be part of the adventures of Tommy and Freddie, two new heroes, one a self-educated and well-read tarantula and his best friend, an impetuous do-it-now-and-worry-about-it-later (and somewhat good naturedly dim) scorpion. You'll meet the scoundrel king-of-all-things-opposed, the Snake King! Who tries many devious devices - and fails at most-to capture the Little People's Treasure! The second story in the book pit Freddie and Tommie once more against another misadventure of the Snake King who tries to use a helium balloon to discover the gold. This time, they knowingly risk their own lives to save the faerie kingdom.
About the Author: Jerry has a BA in Journalism and after 10 years returned to school to study law. He is also an award winning artist and painted the cover art to this book. He grew up in the small town of Payette, Idaho where the Snake River forms the border between Idaho and Oregon. While working as an advertising executive in Chicago he would escape the city life by spending as much time as possible at the Orland Park Forest Preserve near the city. Turnipseed grew into these stories from his memories of the Forest Preserve.
