About the Book

Lou Malloy was never one to be family oriented. He let Kansas when he was 18 years old and had not seen his parents in almost 20 years. At the insistence of Hilary Kelly, he decides to go to the west coast of Florida near Tampa and make amends. As he gets mentally ready to make the trip in the Take Away, Hilary shows him a story about a large gaming initiative in his Father's area and with a picture of his father as head of security. When he reports into Max Reynolds, Lou's minder at the Department of Homeland Security, Max tells him since he is going to see his Father he has of a job that he needs done. Digital plates used to make counterfeit money are being used to flood the monetary system through the various gaming operations in the United States and abroad. He wants Lou to out a stop to it. Unable to say no, Lou loads his team up on the Take Away and prepares to battle with his old nemesis, the Outfit, and a man named Santino Salatorio, who operates one of the largest on-line gambling operations in the world. Because Lou was once involved with acquiring these plates for Max Reynolds by selling doctored plates with a computer virus to the Outfit, he figured that was the end of it. But it was only the beginning. Read as Lou and his team take the Take Away from Tampa to the Bahamas as he tries to outrun four criminal warrants as he makes it to a place called Bonefish Cay and an abandoned sub base from WWII built by the German Third Reich. In addition, Lou discovers an old plane called the P-40 in an abandoned hanger. Determined to learn to fly, Lou and Hilary do the impossible. They teach themselves to fly with the aid of an old pilot they find on the island. As they fly around Bonefish Cay they are spotted by members of a criminal element on a neighboring island known as Shell Island and the game is on. As matters unfold, Lou and his team are attacked by a team of killers from Shell Island. After taking care of the attack, Lou decides it was time to pay a visit to Shell Island and take care of business. While getting ready to go, Max shows up on a nuclear submarine with the special vehicle simply called Mildred. Their mission now was to get control of the on-line gaming system of Salatorio and put him out of business and put a stop to the counterfeit operation, but there is a problem. It was called Rhonda. A 150 mile per hour hurricane and a time bomb that is set to go off on Shell Island just about the time Rhonda is going to hit the area. Racing against time and the mercenaries hired to defend Shell Island, Lou must penetrate the fortified house and acquire a laptop that contains all of Salatorio's operations and get off the Island before the hurricane hits and the bomb goes off. However, time is not on the Crime Bandits side. It is running out and matters are complicated when one of the Crime Bandits discover a scale model of a Stargate which Max was really after all along. With a helicopter full of gold and money, the Crime Bandits barely leave the area, but not everyone is on board. Lou does not make it and has to strap himself to a large tree as the hurricane hits and the bomb goes off sliding the huge mansion on the Island into a deep watery grave. Alone and with everything gone, Lou makes it back to the cave and Mildred in the hopes he can figure out how to return to Bonefish Cay and safety. When he gets to the craft, he discovers Hilary is there and feels like he now has a life again. Together, Hilary and Lou manage to get off Shell Island in Mildred and hopefully some safety on Bonefish Cay. Joey Traficante makes it back to Treasure Island and with plans to now head up the whole gaming operation left by Salatorio, but he is met there by Rance Newborn who wants his money. With murder on his mind, Traficante kills Newborn only to be killed himself by an assassin sent by his Father, a powerful crime boss who catches his son stealing. When Joey asks why, he's told it was just time to kill two birds at the same tim
