La hiperrealista ficción trata de la convulsionada realidad social, cuyo umbral -apunta uno de los personajes de la novela- se remonta a un pasado que se inicia -allá en enero de 1992- en los albores de una posguerra que se ha vuelto interminable -secuela inevitable del final de la guerra civil que desoló por más de 12 años a un país chiquitito y tercermundista- y que los abundantes "analistas" políticos diagnosticaron sería de breve duración, a lo sumo poco más de un par de años, los justos y necesarios para pasar a la plena vigencia de una anhelada democracia, asentada en un estado de derecho en procura permanente del bienestar para la mayoría de la gente que lo habita. Hoy las condiciones de vida en ese paísito son tan deplorables, como que pasó del tercer al quinto mundo.Con abundantes rememoraciones y remembranzas, ese personaje en mención, va construyendo la narración novelística, en la que el típico paísito del tercer mundo y que según él lo asienta, la realidad actual lo ha llevado a ser el arquetipo de país -no en guerra regular- más violento del mundo, donde la causa primera de muertes humanas no son las enfermedades sino los asesinatos -en mayor parte a cargo de la violencia delincuencial- y los accidentes de tránsito provocados por el estrés permanente de la gente que se origina en la violencia social ya en desborde completo.Narración en que los hechos se convierten en umbrales para otros sucesos, que pueden o no conducir al bienestar social o personal.El personaje aludido es un intelectual de la pequeña burguesía, cuya militancia por años en una de las organizaciones que constituyeron la federación de guerrillas salvadoreñas, le permite un conocimiento desde adentro para abordar los distintos momentos que va pasando el arquetípico país durante esa posguerra que se ha hecho interminable. También reflexiona sobre tópicos que afectan a la humanidad -desde siempre- pero con una visión de mundo tropicalizada y que pese a la globalización los gobiernos han sido incapaces de resolver. Además recuerda con un especial afecto a su compañera de vida -al parecer convertida en su primer y último amor verdadero y que lo llevó a la guerrilla en varios países americanos- que por los años 60 cayó en desigual combate contra fuerzas gubernamentales en Guatemala.
