Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 1, Pädagogische Akademie des Bundes Steiermarks (Institut für Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Mehrsprachigkeit, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Servus", "Moin", "Grüß Gott", "Tach", "Grüezi" sind einige Beispiele für Grußformeln in den verschiedensten Bereichen des deutschsprachigen Raums, die zeigen, wie variantenreich die deutsche Sprache ist. Obwohl bei der Betrachtung dieser Beispiele schnell klar wird, dass es sich bei der deutschen Sprache um kein homogenes Gebilde handelt, wird diese in der Gesellschaft und oftmals im Unterricht als solches wahrgenommen. Es wird angenommen, dass der Grund eine fehlende Sensibilisierung für die verschiedenen Varietäten der deutschen Sprache ist. Die vorliegende Proseminararbeit nimmt sich diesem Problem an und versucht die Frage zu klären, inwiefern verschiedene Varietäten des Deutschen, speziell das österreichische Deutsch, im Deutschunterricht an österreichischen Schulen thematisiert werden. Dazu werden am Beginn der Arbeit grundlegende Begriffe wie "Innere Mehrsprachigkeit", "Varietäten", "Varianten" und "Plurizentrik" in Hinblick auf die deutsche Sprache definiert und näher erläutert. Hierbei zeigt sich, dass es sich bei der Sprache Deutsch um eine plurizentrische Sprache handelt, die sich aus drei gleichwertigen Varianten zusammensetzt: dem deutschländischen Deutsch, dem Schweizer Deutsch und dem österreichischen Deutsch. Allgemein anerkannt ist dieser Variantenreichtum der deutschen Sprache jedoch nur bei all jenen, die sich genauer mit dem Deutschen beschäftigen. Im Klassenzimmer an österreichischen Schulen wird dieser, wie ein Forschungsprojekt der Universität Wien zeigt, oftmals kaum näher thematisiert.
