Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,3, Freie Universität Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Jedes fünfte Unternehmen gelangt über einen Zeitraum von 10 Jahren in eine existenzbedrohende Krisensituation - aber nur ungefähr einem Drittel dieser Unternehmen gelingt eine erfolgreiche Bewältigung. Aus dieser Erkenntnis leiten sich die entscheidenden Fragestellungen der Turnaround-Forschung ab: Was unterscheidet jene Unternehmen, die die Krise erfolgreich bewältigen, von jenen die scheitern? Welche Rahmenbedingungen sind von Bedeutung, welche Strategien und Maßnahmen versprechen Erfolg? Wie gestaltet sich ein erfolgreicher Turnaround-Prozess? Kurzum: Was sind Erfolgsfaktoren des Turnarounds? Obwohl mittlerweile zahlreiche Arbeiten diese Thematiken erörtert haben, existieren noch immer zahlreiche "blinde Flecke". So befassen sich die meisten Studien fast ausschließlich mit betriebs- und finanzwirtschaftlichen, oder juristischen Aspekten - und vernachlässigen hierbei systematisch Sozialdimension und Kontext des Turnarounds. Dabei verweist fast jeder Praktiker darauf, dass es häufig die Qualität der sozialen Interaktion ist, die über Erfolg und Misserfolg des Turnarounds entscheidet. Des Weiteren wird ein Großteil der real existierenden Unternehmensformen durch die ausgeprägte Fokussierung auf den speziellen Typ der kapitalmarktorientierten Großunternehmung ausgeblendet. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Forschungsausrichtung verwundert es denn auch nicht, dass ein spezieller Unternehmenstyp, methodisch schwer zugänglich und sozial komplex, in der bisherigen Turnaround-Forschung kaum Beachtung fand. Die Rede ist vom Familienunternehmen. Da nach Aussagen mehrerer Studien jedoch ca. zwei Drittel aller Unternehmen diesem speziellen Unternehmenstyp zugerechnet werden können, muss festgehalten werden, dass somit große Teile der empirischen Realität von der bisherigen Turnaround-Forschung bislang nicht erfasst wurd
