Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensethik, Wirtschaftsethik, Note: 2,0, Universität Osnabrück, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Untersuchung der Kultur von Unternehmen begann erstmals zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre in den USA vor dem Hintergrund, dass sich die japanische Wirtschaft sowohl auf dem Weltmarkt als auch auf dem amerikanischen Binnenmarkt zunehmend als Konkurrent behauptete. Auf der Suche nach den Gründen für den Erfolg japanischer Unternehmen stellte man fest, dass diese Unterschiede bezüglich der Mitarbeiterführung aufwiesen, während quantitative Faktoren wie Technologie und Produkte sich kaum von denen amerikanischer Firmen unterschieden. Auffallend war die starke emotionale Bindung des Personals an das Unternehmen, auf die der Unternehmenserfolg zurückzuführen zu sein schien. Entschieden früher Technologie und Produkte über den Unternehmenserfolg, so ist es heute mehr denn je die menschliche Arbeitsleistung, für die wiederum die Unternehmenskultur die bestimmende Einflussgröße darstellt. Sie beschreibt das Zusammenwirken von Werten und Normen innerhalb einer Organisation, welche den Mitarbeiter in seiner Motivation und der daraus abzuleitenden Leistung beeinflussen. [...] In Kapitel 2 wird der weitläufige Begriff der Unternehmenskultur definiert. Des Weiteren werden noch kurz zur Verdeutlichung die Entstehungsgeschichte, die Elemente und die Funktionen der Unternehmenskultur vorgestellt. Im 3ten Kapitel wird dann die Frage beantwortet, warum das Management in der Verantwortung steht eine funktionierende Unternehmenskultur zu pflegen. Hierbei wird besonders auf die Mitarbeiter eingegangen, da diese in der heutigen Zeit nicht nur der wichtigste Produktionsfaktor sind, sondern auch als Konsumenten am Markt auftreten.
