Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Allgemeines und Grundlagen, Note: 2, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (Institut für Soziologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: LehrerInnen sind Personen, die die verantwortungsvolle Aufgabe haben, anderen, meist jungen Menschen, Bildung zu vermitteln und ihnen zu helfen ihre Persönlichkeit weiterzuentwickeln. Gleichzeitig sollten sie ihren Sprösslingen einen möglichst unbeschwerlichen Einstieg in das Berufsleben ermöglichen und ihnen das Nötige vermitteln, um in der Gesellschaft erfolgreich agieren zu können. Allein aus dieser gängigen Definition ist abzulesen, dass ein gewisses Talent, anderen etwas beibringen zu können, Vorraussetzung ist um den Lehrberuf erfolgreich auszuüben. Weiters ist, sowie in vielen anderen Berufen auch, Leidenschaft gefragt. Dieser Punkt ist auf jeden Fall mit dem erst genannten gleich, wenn nicht sogar darüber zu setzen, da die Arbeit eines Lehrers/einer Lehrerin zweifelsohne Anstrengungen besonderer Art mit sich bringt. Mit 'Anstrengungen besonderer Art' werden hier nicht nur der Stress bezeichnet, welcher durch die zu leistenden Erziehungsarbeit und den Umgang mit Kindern und Jugendlichen entsteht, sonder auch die Tatsache, dass der Berufsstand derzeit argen Kritiken, sowie Beschwerden ausgesetzt ist. Insbesondere seit dem schwachen Abschneiden der österreichischen SchülerInnen bei der populären PISA-Studie hagelt es von Seiten der Eltern und der Medien Kritiken auf den Lehrkörper. Als Konsequenz kommt es nun zum Reformdrang. Auf einmal sind LehrerInnen mit Blitzideen, wie Noten für Unterrichtende, legale Schummelzettel, oder Schularbeiten, die im Nachhinein von den SchülerInnen noch mal verbessert werden können, und zu guter Letzt noch mit einer eventuellen Einführung einer Gesamtschule konfrontiert. Zusammengefasst kann man behaupten, dass LehrerInnen in Zeiten wie diesen keineswegs ein leichtes Los haben. Die nötige Brisanz um eine Studie zum Thema Lehrer zu verfassen ist also d
