"A Dog Named Supper"
"Petrified Cow Pie"
"What To Do If the Rules Don't Make Sense"
These are a few of one baby boomer's collected stories and life lessons experienced and learned during a time without computers or the Internet. Organized by timelessly relevant topics, such as responsibility, procrastination, and persistence, author Terry Ridgley pairs each of his true tales with lessons and related Bible verses to pass on to the next generation. They are all stories we can enjoy and subjects we all need guidance on from time to time.
Primarily stories from his experiences growing up on his grandparents' farm in southern Illinois, they convey the wisdom that only comes through a person looking back on moments that taught him a lesson, which went unrecognized in the moment. This hindsight allows us a glimpse into the past, the ability to experience his childhood moments along with him, and at the same time learn the valuable lessons as they happen.
So pull up a chair and listen to Ridgley's anecdote about his first car and pet dog. Grab a hook, a pole, and some line and spend the afternoon fishing. Listen to Grandpa. And learn.
