About the Author: Jurgen Drews, 1933 in Berlin geboren, studierte Medizin, habilitierte sich und wurde Professor fur Innere Medizin in Heidelberg und Molekulare Genetik in New Jersey, USA. Von 1970 bis 1998 leitete er die weltweite Forschung und Entwicklung groer international tatiger Pharma-Firmen, zuletzt als Mitglied der Konzernleitung bei Hoffmann-La Roche. Er ist heute freiberuflich tatig und lebt in der Nahe von Munchen und im Tessin. 2004 erhielt er den Beckmann-Preis der American Laboratory Association fur bedeutende Beitrage zur Arzneimittelforschung. Drews veroffentlichte zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Artikel und ist Autor und Herausgeber vieler Fachbucher, z. B. In Quest of Tomorrow's Medicines (Springer, New York, 2000). Daneben publizierte er neben Erzahlungen und Gedichten mehrere Romane, u. a. El Mundo oder die Leugnung der Verganglichkeit (2003), Menschengedenken (2005), Der Spiegelmord im Morderspiel (2006), Wie wir den Krieg gewannen (2007), Jahresringe (2008). Bei Buch&media sind von ihm erschienen: Der verschwundene Pianist (Roman, 2009), Unter der Himmelsuhr (Roman, 2010), Wendelins Traum (Roman, 2012) sowie Das andere Gesicht (Sechs Erzahlungen, 2013).
