About the Book

About the BOOK, VICTORY AND DEFEAT This book continues to chronicle the daily events of the early years of the Cory Administration including the activities of the American CIA to get our Armed Forces to kidnap, torture and kill any student, professor, laborer, or priest perceived to be "Communist" which Americans of low IQ define as anyone who is anti-American, opposed to American Bases or sympathetic to the poor. Soviet Russia retorts by reflection, using the same tactics against those perceived to be sympathetic towards Americans, but only a few cases come to mind -- Hungary, Afghanistan, Poland. The boorish clumsy Americans have meddled everywhere -- Guatemala, Iran, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Grenada, Fiji, Philippines in recent years -- Cuba, Bolivia, Greece, Turkey, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Chile, Argentina, Haiti, Dominican Republic in the past -- name it, and the CIA has been there, causing destabilization everywhere -- all in the name of democracy. Democracy, my aching foot! The USA has imposed more dictators on the poor nations of the world that any other Imperial power in all history -- Marcos, Shah of Iran, Trujillo, Somoza, Duvalier, Pinochet, Batista, Ngo Dinh Diem and his successors, Chiang Kai Shek and his successors, Syngman Rhee and his successors, Lon Nol and his successors, the white supremacists of Rhodesia and South Africa -- the scum of the earth. We survive this intrusion, according to Henares, because those who run the CIA are stupid and inept. Henares, who makes his business to meet CIA agents, say they are crude, loudmouthed, with the manners and mentality of Tennessee hillbillies. They cannot write or speak understandable English. And they manage to look and act like drop-outs from reform school. The Filipino CIA agents are no better. There is this columnist with the grammar, syntax and logic of a congenital idiot. There is this imbecile whose classmates charitably took his exams and quizzes for him throughout high school; he was the class pet and mascot, a replacement for a monkey who got too smart for the job; and he turned out to be a high ranking CIA agent. Once the CIA printed a comic book, for Christ's sake, detailing how to sabotage the Sandinista regime in Nicaragua. It is absolutely hilarious. It puts serious warfare on the same level as a schoolboy's prank. It urges the Nicaraguans in perfect Grade 2 Spanish to stop up toilets with sponges, in a country where toilets are just holes in the ground -- to put dirt in gas tanks, to put nails on the road, cut and perforate the upholstery of vehicles, in a nation where cars and public vehicles are scarce -- to telephone false hotel reservations, where hotels and telephones are few -- to hoard and steal food, where food are being rationed -- to leave lights on, where lights are mostly oil lamps -- to steal mail from mailboxes, where not a single mailbox even exists -- The truth is today's Americans are lousy soldiers. Totally dependent on sophisticated weapons, they could not win the war against the pajama clad Vietcong. Their soldiers are so undisciplined they make a hobby of savaging (killing) their own officers during a battle. They tried in vain to rescue 40 Americans from Mayaguez and lost 41 soldiers in the process, hardly a worthwhile endeavor. They tried in vain to rescue American captives from the Iranians, lost two men in a collision between two American helicopters, for Christ's sake. They made one air raid in Beirut and lost two of their most sophisticated planes, through a SAM missile, eye-sighted by an ignorant Arab. They boasted of invading Grenada, a country of 88,000 people, less people than in a barrio in Tondo, defended by 40 Cubans; boasted of bullying Nicaragua, a country of 3 million, less than half the population of Metro Manila. BOO! HISS! On the other hand, the Israelis raided Beirut more than 30 times and lost not a single plane. Israelis stormed the airport of Entebbe, killing all the terrorists, (MORE INSIDE)
