About the Book

After a failed marriage and an unsuccessful relationship Jessica vows never to experience the pain she has endured again. The old cliché 'never say never' becomes real to her. Unexpectantly, Michael walks into her life and she forgets past betrayal. Desire, excitement and passion are wrapped in an attractive masculine figure. Believing she has found her soul-mate she dives head first into a commitment. Her happiness is shattered once more when she stumbles on a secret, a secret so devastating she flees her hometown for the sunny beaches of Florida. But she, too, carries a secret. One that she is determined that Michael will never know. Years pass, she builds a prosperous business leaving no time for intimacy. Returning to her hometown for a wedding she once again comes into contact with Michael. He is obsessed with renewing their involvement and tracks her back to Florida. Can she trust him? Will he accept the secret she has hidden for some many years? Is there a 'happily ever after' in their future?
About the Author: The author, raised in the rugged hills and sheltered forest of West Virginia was taught by her grandmother to read at the age of four, igniting a desire to create her own stories of adventure in imaginary places. She dreamed of living on the mountain with a collie as a constant companion and writing the great American novel. Life took a different turn. She married, had children and entertained them on long road trips and snowy winter evenings with tales of intrigue and adventure from her imagination. Writing for publication was not on the immediate agenda. After years of potty training, running noses, childish laughter, scout leadership, football and soccer practice, dancing classes, graduations and weddings there would be time for serious writing. But the unthinkable happened. A devastating illness left her husband disabled. The next fifteen years were spend caring for him. After fifty-one years of marriage she found herself with an empty nest and no one to nurture. Looking for a way to fill her days she remembered a long forgotten dream. Instead of a mountain, she has a beach. Instead of a collie, she has a Lhasa-apso (Scruffy) and an Siamise cat (Isis). At last, she is bringing the characters and settings of her imagination to life. This is Ms. O'Brian's second novel.
