About the Book

The research study was conducted during the year 2000-2001 and collected data about the attitudes of students, teachers, instructors and administrators about different aspects of vocationalisation of education so as to get a better picture of the situation and to make recommendations for the improvement of vocational education. The present study is, therefore, and ardent effort in this direction.Some of the major findings of the study are as follows: 1. The curriculum has not been revised in accordance with the changing times. 2. The syllabus in the vocational education courses in heavy. 3. There is a dearth of trained teacehrs in vocational education institutions. 4. Latest equipment is not available in vocational education institutions. 5 Suitable teaching aids are not available to the teachers of vocational education. etc. About Author : Dr. N. Venkateswarlu was born on 15th May, 1973. He has a Post-Graduate Degree (M.A. in History); Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed. with specialization in Measurement and Evaluation, Pre-primary Education, Curriculum Development and Gifted Backward and Mental Retarded); Doctoral Degree in Education (Ph.D. in the area of Vocational Education); and Diploma in Child Psychology Care and Management. He has been working for the last four years as a Lecturer in Annibesent College of Education at Kandukur in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh.Dr. K. Cahndra Sekhar was born on 29th May, 1968. He has a Post-Graduate Degree (M.A. in Political Science); Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed. with specialization in Measurement and Evaluation, Economics of Education, Educational Technology and Pre-primary Education); and Doctoral Degree in Education (Ph.D. in the area of Primary School Teacher Education). He worked for two years as Lecturer in the Department of Education, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and one year as Lecturer in the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore.
