Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2022 im Fachbereich Musikwissenschaft - Systematische Musikwissenschaft, Note: 1,3, Technische Universität Dortmund (Institut für Musik und Musikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Analyse II: Idée fixe, Leitmotiv, thème cyclique, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Faust-Symphonie von Franz Liszt und analysiert, wie dieser das Faust-Thema in seinem Werk transformiert hat. Diese Analysearbeit wird sich daher mit der Fragestellung beschäftigen, auf welche Art und Weise die Themen des ersten Satzes im dritten Satz wieder aufgegriffen werden und wie dies in Bezug auf die Textvorlage zu deuten ist. Dafür wird im Folgenden zuerst genauer der Erstehungshintergrund mit der Textvorlage, dem Kompositionsprozess sowie der Einordnung in die Gattung Symphonie oder symphonische Dichtung betrachtet, um danach in der Analyse den Aufbau der Symphonie sowie ihre Gestaltung und Verwendung der Themen im ersten und dritten Satz genauer zu untersuchen und zu vergleichen. So beabsichtigt die musikalische Analyse, die wichtigsten Liszt'schen Verfahren zu identifizieren und zu veranschaulichen sowie diese Themen- und Motivtransformation zu deuten. Die Faust-Symphonie von Franz Liszt, gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Werke Franz Liszts. In seinem Kompositionsprozess wurde Liszt von Goethes Werk Faust I sowie von bestehenden Vertonungen dessen Werks inspiriert, was Liszt durch den Titel "Eine Faust-Symphonie in drei Charakterbildern" präzisiert. Das Werk besteht aus drei Sätzen sowie einem Schlusschor, welcher nachträglich hinzugefügt wurde. Die Ergänzung im Titel verdeutlicht, dass Liszt weniger die Handlung vertont, als die Charaktere musikalisch zu verarbeiten. Beim ersten Hören der Symphonie fällt eine Verbindung zwischen dem ersten Satz und dem dritten Satz auf, da Themen des ersten Satz wieder aufgegriffen werden und transformiert erklingen. So stellt der dritte Satz mit dem Beinamen Mephistopheles nahezu eine Verwandlung und Karika
