Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europas - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 1,0, Universität Duisburg-Essen (Historisches Institut), Veranstaltung: Hauptseminar "Das Reich unter Heinrich I.", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: [...] Diese Arbeit im Rahmen des Hauptseminars "Das Reich unter König Heinrich I." des Sommersemesters 2009 an der Universität Duisburg-Essen versucht den Spagat zwischen zwei offenkundig so verschiedenen, weil fast ein Jahrtausend auseinanderreichenden Perioden. Sie will in zünächst das Werk des ersten König der Luidolfinger, eben jenes Heinrich, nach dem derzeitigen Forschungsstand - der naturgemäß ein gegenüber der Mitte des vorletzten Jahrhunderts fortgeschrittener ist - darstellen. Anschließend sollen die grob umrissenen Entwicklungen der Reichsgeschichte von Heinrichs Tod bis zu dem des Reiches uns zur neuzeitlichen deutschen Frage führen. Die beiden großen Lager der deutschen Frage des 19. Jahrhunderts, die borussisch-kleindeutschen Vertreter und die kaiserlich-großdeutsche Partei mitsamt ihren ideellen und materiellen Bezugspunkten Preußen und Österreich sollen erfasst und die entscheidende Jahre vor der einstweiligen Beantwortung der deutschen Frage zwischen der Revolution von 1848 und der "Revolution von oben" von 1866 bzw. 1870/71 in ihrer wegweisenden Bedeutung für den weiteren Verlauf der europäischen Geschichte dargestellt werden. Die anschließend zu leistende Untersuchung setzt in jenem als "Entscheidungsjahre" definierten Zeitfenster an. Gegenstand ist eine Auswahl als repräsentativ für die verschiedenen Lager erachteter geschichtswissenschaftlicher und -politischer Schriften. Unsere Fragestellung lautet: Inwiefern hat der Rückblick auf Heinrich I. den Diskurs in der deutschen Frage beeinflusst? Welche Rolle spielte die Zugehörigkeit zu einem der Lager für die Bewertung seiner Regentschaft?
