About the Book

A wonderful eclectic collection of almost 80 poems by Bahrain's esteemed poet David Hollywood. David, originally from Ireland but now a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is jointly responsible for the Bahrain Writers' Circle, now one of the biggest multi-national clubs for writers across the region, The Second Circle, Bahrain's biggest multi-national poetry group, and organises the annual The Colours of Life Poetry Festival. one of the most important culturally cosmopolitan events to take place within all of The Gulf region. About the Author: David Hollywood is married with four children and presently lives in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He is one of the most well-known Western poets on the island, and co-manages the Bahrain Writers' Circle which is one of the largest multi-national clubs for writers in that part of the world. Also, as Chairman of The Second Circle, he supervises and directs Bahrain's biggest transnational poetry group, as well as organises the annual The Colours of Life Poetry Festival which has developed into being one of the most culturally important cosmopolitan events to take place within all of The Gulf. Originally starting his career within the context of commerce and international trade relations, he has, over a 30 year period, served on a variety of boards of management in Ireland, England, Switzerland, Holland, the U.S.A. and Moldova. In conjunction with his wife Ruth, he also established and developed wine appreciation and education workshops and courses in Ireland and the USA. Since the early 2000s David has expanded his personal interests in theatre production and is now working towards creating a variety of courses in Stage Craft for the benefit of The Gulf region populations. He is a contributor to the best selling book My Beautiful Bahrain and has performed occasional voice-over services for documentary programmes. Recently he published Waiting Spaces, a collection of his essay's and poems. His interests include classical history, cosmology, cricket, wine education, acting and poetry performance.
