About the Book

Wander began as an exploration of the human condition. A voyeuristic view into the lives of those around us and more importantly deep into ourselves. Wander is a state of mind. A place we get to as we explore ourselves and the world around us. This collection of short stories is centered around loss. Loss is a theme I have been exploring over the last ten years as I have sifted through the pain of grief. Loss is a strange journey, each day different than the last. These stories reflect not only the weight of loss but the questioning that comes from trying to understand that which can not be explained.
About the Author: Los Angeles born, Casey Renee LeVasseur, began her love affair with words studying and memorizing lyrics from her favorite bands. Growing up watching her father perform in nightclubs and bars she was naturally drawn to music, but it was the lyrics that spoke to her. It was words, again, that initially drew her to film. She would spend free time watching old movies, studying and analyzing her favorite lines. LeVasseur eventually put pen to paper, filling stacks of composition notebooks with teenage angst and creating quirky and slightly deranged short stories for her friends and family. Her passion for writing and film lead her to a degree in Cinema Arts from California State University, at Northridge. LeVasseur's debut novel, Silence & Noise: one girl's journey into insanity, is a coming of age story about a girl's struggle with mental illness. She is an advocate for mental health awareness and has made it her mission to use her writing as a tool to help break down the negative stigma clouding mental illness. The topic of mental health is ever present in her works and serves as constant inspiration for her strong, courageous, and inquisitive characters. She is a frequent contributor to TheMighty.com sharing stories and insight on loss, grief and mental illness. Currently LeVasseur keeps herself busy with her short story podcast, Wander, about the human condition. The show has lead to over 70 episodes and two short story collections in print. In addition she is working on her second novel as well as a children's book series with her daughter. When she isn't writing books and short stories she is writing and performing with her Supersonic Folk band KASL.
