Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Beruf, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 2,0, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Veranstaltung: Bildungsungleichheiten, 5 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bildung ist in Deutschland in den Mittelpunkt des politischen und medialen Interesses gerückt, es werden jedoch meist die Schwachstellen des Bildungssystems thematisiert. Um diese besser zu begreifen und in den internationalen Vergleich zu stellen, wurde 2000 erstmals PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) zur internationalen Evaluation und zum Vergleich von Bildung eingeführt. Da Deutschland bei dieser Studie unterdurchschnittlich abgeschnitten hat, ist seitdem der Begriff "PISA" ähnlich negativ konnotiert wie das Unwort des Jahres 2004 "Humankapital" - ebenfalls ein Bildungsbegriff. Seitdem scheint es eine Inflation an Evaluationen von PISA-E (Vergleich der Bundesländer) über IGLU (Internationale Grundschul-Lese-Untersuchung) zu TIMMS (Trends in Mathematics and Science Study) zu geben. Wichtig ist nun, den Blick auf die Hintergründe und Ursachen des schlechten Abschneidens Deutschlands zu richten und die Frage nach der Verteilung von Bildungschancen aufzuwerfen. Trotz (oder gerade wegen) des dreigliedrigen Schulsystems in Deutschland herrscht eine Bildungsungleichheit unter deutschen Schülern vor. Die Frage der Rolle der sozialen Herkunft auf die Bildungsungleichheit ist noch nicht eindeutig geklärt. Wie diese zustande kommt und wo die Schwachstellen des deutschen Bildungssystems sind, haben Becker und Schubert in einer Längsschnittuntersuchung mit dem Titel Intergenerationale Transmission von ökonomischem, sozialem und kulturellen Kapital für den Schulerfolg analysiert. Ich werde die Kernaussagen dieser Untersuchung kurz zusammenfassen und davon ausgehend untersuchen, was sich im Hinblick auf PISA und IGLU 2003 geändert hat und ob Bildungsungleichheiten bzw. deren Ursachen abgebaut werden konn
