About the Book

During the past hundred years, the human species has contaminated, evaporated and poisoned most of the fresh water on the planet. Over the past twenty years, Earth has become warmer. Some argue it's a natural phenomenon. Most, however, believe human recklessness has brought us to the verge of catastrophe. In the near future, the ice caps have melted. Coastlines are underwater. Billions are dead. The rest are dying. And the world hasn't seen rain in over a year. Those who have survived face a world without power, fuel or food. You are one of the survivors. It's been six months since the lights went out. You've buried your family in shallow graves. The United States has become a wasteland. The only food and drink you can find, you need to fight for.And suddenly a voice on the radio tells you they've got the power on. They have running water. And they're going to start over again. But the more you learn about who these people are, the more you realize survival comes at a cost. What would you do to survive?Who would you kill? What would you give up for a drink of water? The end of the world is just the beginning.
About the Author: Jeff Rosenplot is a novelist and playwright. Born July 20, 1969 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, Rosenplot moved to the United States in 1993. He is married and is the father of an adult daughter. Jeff Rosenplot writes dark fiction, which he describes as follows: "If Stephen King and Carl Jung went on a date, and met up with Jeffrey Dahmer, their love child would be dark fiction. It's not horror and it's not a psychological thriller, but has elements of both." Dark fiction is the peeling back of human masks. It delves into the depth of personal pain and struggle, which are the key motivators of all behavior. Jeff Rosenplot is the author of Water, a novel set after catastrophic climate change has thrown the world into chaos. He is also the author two short story collections, Midwestern Love Songs and its dark cousin, Midwestern B Sides. As well, he is the author of Intermezzo, a love story and the novel Here There Be Dragons. He is also the author of the play, The Transitional Man. He is currently working on multiple new projects, including new novels, plays and television and film scripts. Jeff Rosenplot has been writing all his life.
