About the Book

The Introduction

God, I got you. Show me the way, and forgive me for being lost. Know when to play defense, know when to play offense-never confuse the two sides. It's a process, but it's simple. Follow me, as I lead us through what would be the equivalent to The Underground Railroad, or the Three-fifths Compromise-depending on what era in history you choose to start from. Some time ago, I gave my life over to God, to use for the greater good. I have a theory that our ancestors did the same thing. How else have we made it this far without Him? To be absent from the body is to be present in the spirit. After losing my Great-Grandmother, Rebecca Davis, I chose to accept what God has called me to do, by helping people heal. Although she's not here physically, it feels like she's still with me and that I'm still living on her prayers. When I listen to the gospel song Order My Steps, I hear her singing. Now, the only way to truly win in this life is by being kept spiritually, mentally, and physically. Before embarking on a new journey, ask God to be your guide in setting the atmosphere every step of the way. The purpose of life is to feel like the main character. In this life smile through the pain, and don't hold the next person to a higher standard than you can't hold yourself to. In the end, we're all human. Before a caterpillar transitions into a butterfly, it goes through a season of resistance before breaking out of its cocoon. Resistance against stagnation, hunger, old form, and physical constraints. Each stage represents a unique struggle that ultimately leads to the beautiful and liberated form of the butterfly. In due time, people will be witnesses of the same experience through age, and wisdom. Some see a glass half-full as a sign of hope, or that everything will be okay. Surprisingly life's experiences have allowed me to express gratitude for the simple fact that there is something in the cup, regardless of how much it is. Henny saw something in me that I only thought I saw in myself, he said: "You're the glue!" Now peep how it all came together.
