About the Author: The author has combined both personal and professional experience to create The Mom's Rule Book. Personal experience includes raising 2 sons, both as a single and partnered parent. Both sons are now grown, one in college and the other a college graduate. Both experienced The Mom's Rule Book first hand. Professional experience includes working with families and children in a variety of capacities for over 25 years. As a Special Education Teacher, she worked with elementary aged children. The challenges these children faced were often daunting. The rules in this book were invaluable in helping them to meet those challenges. As a Child Life Specialist, the author worked with children and families in hospitals helping them to cope with the fear and pain of illness and sometimes death. The milestones in this book were included in the staff training and assessment materials to ensure that children were treated at appropriate developmental levels. As Family Services Coordinator for a homeless shelter, the rules in this book gave panicked parents and children consistency and security in an insecure world.
