About the Book

Beth and her husband, Kurt rescue cats; but not just any cat. Many of the cats are given a second chance when they to come to their home, after suffering abuse from people who no longer want them. Each cat has a unique story to share but one in particular will take your breath away. Whitie! Whitie was not just one of the cats, he was The Cat. Rescued from a high risk, kill shelter, Whitie, quickly takes over his house and is affectionately nicknamed, The King. Not only does he control his humans but he is the alpha cat, within the cat population. Many cats join the family, but Whitie is the one to introduce each new member to his way of life in his house. This place of second chances for those "throw-away" cats. A sanctuary filled with lots of love and caring. While Whitie may have catitude, and enjoy his naps, he certainly is not lacking on the adventurous side of life. His antics and personality will have you falling in love with him. However, you might want to guard your heart because it will be broken. You will laugh, cry, wonder, but most of all love, Whitie and his clan. You will see inside of a cat's mind and how they think. A scary thought isn't it? A must read book for anyone who enjoys a feel good story, but most of all for anyone who has loved a furbaby. Whitie will take you with him and you won't be able to put this book down. The story is based on real rescue animals and their owners. The ending will leave you reaching for the box of tissues and make you wonder, if cats truly do have nine lives or just one.
About the Author: Mabel Elizabeth (Beth) Livingston has been writing since the young age of eleven. She would often get in trouble as a student for writing, instead of paying attention in class. Whitie - The Cat Who Rescued Humans, is Beth's first published novel but not her first published writing. Beth has written for her small town newspaper, written and published various newsletters for organizations and schools, devolped and written informational pamphlets, poetry, and a children's book entitled, "How Many are Too Many?" A children's book that uses the story of her rescue cats to teach preschool and early elementary math skills. She hopes to publish a children's version of Whitie in the near future. Beth is a talented writer and has the ability to create characters with unique personalities. She not only enjoys writing, but loves teaching her students how they too can love writing. She is an English teacher in Central Florida, where she is involved in the dual enrollment program. Beth is also an adjunct professor of English at a local college. A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, Beth received her Master of Fine Arts degree in English and Fiction Writing. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Education at Warner University. Beth is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Beth and her husband Kurt live in a small town centrally located between the large cities of Tampa and Orlando. When she is not writing or teaching, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband Kurt. They enjoy riding motorcycles, going to car shows, and spending time relaxing. Currently she is working on her second novel the sequel to Whitie. Beth is the proud mother of three adult children, and the proud Nana to eight grandchildren. Of course she and her husband run a small rescue and are kept busy with their dogs and cats.
