Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Geschichte Deutschlands - Nationalsozialismus, Zweiter Weltkrieg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Hausarbeit werden die frühe Lagerphase unter den Lagerkommandanten Wäckerle und Eicke ab 1933/ 34 sowie die späte Lagerphase um 1938 thematisiert. Untersucht werden dabei der gewaltdurchzogene Häftlingsalltag und die Chancen des Widerstands im Konzentrationslager Dachau anhand der Zeitzeugenberichte Hans Beimlers und Paul Martin Neuraths. Um die Handlungsmöglichkeiten der Häftlinge besser nachvollziehen zu können, wird dafür auch auf die Wachmannschaften und Kommandanten samt ihrer Häftlingshandhabung beziehungsweise ihre Gangart gegenüber den Insassen eingegangen. Die genannten Zeitzeugenberichte sind, da sie von ehemaligen Häftlingen verfasst wurden, sehr subjektiv geschrieben. Auf der einen Seite beschreibt Hans Beimler, damaliger KPD Funktionär und Reichstagsabgeordneter, in seinem Werk "Im Mörderlager Dachau. Vier Wochen in den Händen der braunen Banditen" seinen Aufenthalt in der frühen Dachauer Lagerphase. Aufgrund seiner politischen Einstellung ist er damals im Bunker des Lagers in Einzelhaft genommen worden, was seine Sicht und den Bericht über das Lagergeschehen beschränkt und prägt. Auf der anderen Seite bezieht sich die Arbeit auf das Werk "Die Gesellschaft des Terrors. Innenansichten der Konzentrationslager Dachau und Buchenwald" von Paul Martin Neurath, einem damaligen österreichischen Juristen, der 1938 nach Dachau deportiert worden war und neben der Lagerstruktur, Häftlings- und Wachmannsbeschreibungen, vor allem auf die Häftlingsgesellschaft, die Machtausübung der SS und auch Konflikte eingeht.
