Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Kunst - Kunstgeschichte, Note: 1,0, Universität Erfurt, Veranstaltung: Ausgewählte Probleme der Kunstgeschichte, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Protagonisten des Wiener Aktionismus überschritten "Anfang der 1960er-Jahre die Gattungsgrenzen der Malerei zugunsten von Aktionen mit realen Körpern, Objekten und Substanzen in Raum und Zeit" . Der Kunstbegriff wurde grundlegend hinterfragt und aufgebrochen. Die Aktionisten interessierten sich in der Wiener Kunst für die Künstler, welche "körpersprachlichen Ausdruck als Seismografen und Indikator psychischen Erlebens thematisierten" . Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka und Richard Gerstl waren in der Wiener Kunst wesentliche Bezugspunkte, weil diese Künstler Interesse hatten, in ihren Porträts über den körperlichen Ausdruck das Psychische zu erfassen und Mut zum Tabubruch aufbrachten. In der Nachkriegskunst fand vor allem die Malergruppe St. Stephan aufgrund ihrer abstrakten Malweise die Aufmerksamkeit der Aktionisten. Aber der wichtigste Bezugspunkt für die Aktionisten stellte Arnulf Rainer dar, weil er eine expressive Malweise verwendete und mit seinem Körper posierte, was er fotografisch und filmisch festhielt. Außer den informel - bzw. körpermotorischen Malern gab es noch zwei relevante Bewegungen, welche den Wirklichkeitsbegriff auch hinterfragten: Die Wiener Gruppe und die Wiener Formalfilmer. Die Wiener Gruppe und die Formalfilmer hatten keinen unmittelbaren Einfluss auf den Wiener Aktionismus, aber es gab ähnliche Ansätze, wodurch einige Zusammenarbeiten zustande kamen. Die Aktionisten begannen in der Malerei. Aber sie mussten diese erweitern, um die Fläche, das Tafelbild, zum Raum zu öffnen. Worum ging es den Aktionisten und was zeichnet sie als solche aus? Im Folgenden soll diese Frage diskutiert werden. Zunächst erfolgt eine Schilderung der Zeitumstände, in welcher die Aktionisten ihren Aufbruch starteten.
