Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Russistik / Slavistik, Note: 1,0, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Dass Kriege sowohl die Nationen im Kampf zusammenführen, als auch einen komplexen Impulsgeber und Rahmen für die abbildende fotografische Dokumentation und Fotobearbeitung liefern, zeigt sich auch am Beispiel des 5. Mai 1920 in Moskau: Lenin spricht, flankiert von Trotzkiund Kamenev, zu den Truppen der Rotgardisten. Grijgorij Gol'dstein schießt an diesem Tag mehrere Fotos, von denen eines Eingang in den zeitgenössischen Rezeptionshorizont fand und durch den Künstler Isaak Brodskij in die Kunst des sozialistischen Realismus eingefügt wurde. Im Spannungsfeld der Wahrnehmung dieser Abbildungen, stehen zudem bearbeitete Abarten der Gol'dsteinfotografien. In Bezug auf die zeitnahe Rezeption dieser Abbildungen, zeigt die wissenschaftliche Betrachtung keine eindeutige Perspektive. Im Hinblick auf die Nennung eines konkreten Bildstatus, schreibt David King: "Diese Fotografie, die von G.P. Goldstein stammt [...], ist wahrscheinlich das erste und sicher das berühmteste Beispiel der stalinistischen Retuschen. Das Original, das zu Lenins Lebzeiten und als Trotzki noch an der Macht war zum Kultbild wurde, ging um die Welt." Während King auf die Kanonisierung des Pressefotos und die politisch motivierten Umformungsprozess unter Stalin verweist, deutet Klaus Waschik auf die heute bestehende fehlerhafte Wahrnehmung, die im Spannungsverhältnis der rezeptiven Relationen zwischen Bildern und Abbildern zu suchen ist: "Vielleicht entwickelten sich diese Fotografien gerade deshalb zu Bild-Ikonen mit einem festen Platz in der Lenin-Ikonographie und damit im Kanon revolutionärer Herrscherbilder. Dies betrifft jedoch nicht alle Aufnahmen der Serie vom 5. Mai 1920, die wenigen ausgewählten nicht in Gänze und nicht zwingend als Fotodokumente."
