About the Author: The year is 2037. A young widowed woman, Margaret Maxwell, is elected president of the United States. She has no idea what's in store for her.
In her two terms, Maxwell deals with international conflicts, the most horrific terrorist attack imaginable, tremendous natural disasters, and a deadly pandemic. Through it all, she has to make tough and calculated decisions. She remains steady, she grows, she learns, and somehow, she still finds the time to raise her children-and to remarry.
With each move on the international chessboard, she battles against world powers that would attempt to destroy all she has built for her country. Yet nearing the end of her eight years in office, she feels she's left behind a legacy to be proud of.
But her journey is not over yet. Maxwell is about to face the greatest threat the world has ever seen-a nuclear war-and she'll have to use every ounce of strength and intelligence she possesses to prevent it. The question is: Can she succeed? If she does, she'll not only save the world, but she'll change it forever.
