About the Book

What would living in your purpose everyday look like? Have you ever wondered what your purpose is? Why are you living? Is there something you were just meant to do? You were born, you have lived, yet you feel something missing and that you're not living life fully. Well sometimes we need real life evidence, a true story of what it looks like for someone that can live in their purpose and be genuine and authentic. That doesn't mean that EVERYDAY will be happy but most of those days can be some of the best days that you have ever had and those great days will carry you through the tough times. We all have a reason for living, we all have a purpose. You may have in your mind that you are a person that just exists. You may think that what you say and do doesn't count to anyone but you. I'm here to tell you that YOU MATTER! Whether you know it or not, there is something that you've said or done to someone that has affected them in such a way that only you could have done it and it has helped that person get to the next point in their life in a positive way. YOU MATTER because you listened to that friend when he didn't have anyone else to turn to. YOU MATTER because you picked up the dinner bill when your friend didn't have the money to pay until payday. YOU MATTER because that stranger was all alone ready to give up on life and you stopped to smile at them and started a meaningful conversation. These mini testimonials of how one person was able to impact many around the world will give you evidence that not only do you matter, but will encourage you to discover and recognize your purpose and you will begin to live in it every day.
About the Author: Jamicka Edwards was born in a south suburb of Chicago, IL. Her mother was able to walk away from her abusive drug addict and alcoholic father and at the age of 10, they packed up and moved to the small town of Savanna, IL. Her mother singlehandedly raised Jamicka and her two sisters working sometimes two jobs to make ends meet. Jamicka never allowed her circumstances to deter her from achieving any goal she has set. As a high school student maintaining a GPA of 2.0 she was persuaded to believe she would not make it into college. Thirteen years later, she proudly graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Northwest University. Throughout those thirteen years she fulfilled some major milestones and accomplishments. In 1998 she joined the United States Army and was awarded two Army Accommodation Medals and an Army Achievement Medal. Now a single mother, she is raising three sons; J'Don, Jamal, and Absalom. They reside in Steilacoom WA near Seattle. While homeschooling J'Don and Jamal she participated in the Mrs. Washington America Pageant and was awarded Mrs. Congeniality 2009. Her most recent community activities include: member of the Diversity Committee for SHSD, Kiwanis of Steilacoom, Toastmasters International- City of Lakewood, WA, Washington Association of Educational Office Professionals (WAEOP), and National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP). Although just starting her career as a motivational speaker, Jamicka has already begun to develop a good reputation for herself as one who will inspire, encourage, and engage an audience from high school students to educational and professional organizations to include Toastmasters International. She is an energetic ball of fire that won't stop reaching for goals and achieving them. In 2016 training for her first Half Marathon she fell in love with running. You can now call her an avid runner as she has found herself building a rather large collection of race medals. If you're looking for someone authentic, genuine, real, and that will leave you believing you can achieve anything; you've found her "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
