You don't need to have resources, whether financial or academic, to change the world. It all starts with you...When You're Great They Remember Your Name.
This is a business memoir meant to be a career how-to guide, via my own experiences, to help others who, like me, had no clue about their own dreams or potential. My jobs spanned from New York City to the fish markets of Hong Kong, the rice fields of China and exotic Indonesia. After 41 years of working at successful careers, none of which I was qualified for, I retired.
My most notable career was working for the multinational toy manufacturer, Mattel in Hong Kong, China, leading teams in Asia that developed the fabrics and fashions for dolls, mainly Barbie. Yes...I dressed the most famous girl in the world! The pink-glittered, blue-eyed, blonde American icon who claimed nearly two hundred careers to inspire girls.
After relocating back the USA, I was often asked what kind of a background I had to work in Hong Kong and develop fashions for Barbie? The answer was complicated and I jokingly replied, " Read the book! " It always got a laugh, but after a couple of years giving the same response I realized that I had a story to tell that could help those struggling in a career or without a dream. My accomplishments came from creating a Personal Brand Image. My careers took me from being shy, introverted, and financially challenged, to achieve becoming an executive for a multibillion-dollar toy company.
I decided to write this book for others without a dream. Hopefully after sharing my story it will inspire someone to do a lot starting with very little. You just have to be great at whatever you do and then do it better than anyone else because... When You're Great They Remember Your Name which will lead to finding the SuperHero inside you.
