Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Physik - Theoretische Physik, Note: 1,0, Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Entwicklung immer kürzerer Laserpulse bis in den unteren Femtosekundenbereich erlaubt die Untersuchung der Dynamik eines angeregten Elektronengases. Auf kurzen Zeitskalen existiert an Metallgrenzflächen nach einer Anregung mit ultrakurzen Lichtimpulsen ein Nichtgleichgewicht zwischen elektronischen Anregungen und Anregungen des Gitters. Dieses Nichtgleichgewicht hat einen starken Einfluß auf Grenzflächenreaktionen. So konnte z.B. gezeigt werde, dass auf einer Ruthenium-Oberfläche die Oxidation von Carbon-Monoxid zu Carbon-Dioxid durch angeregte Elektronen und nicht durch die Kopplung des Adsorbats an das Phononenbad des Gitters entsteht [1]. Ein möglicher Mechanimsus für eine photoinduzierte Oberflächenreaktion wird durch das DIET-Modell beschrieben (Desorption Induced by Electronic Transitions)[2]. Durch Licht angeregte Elektronen im Substrat können durch die Potentialbarriere zwischen Oberfläche und Adsorbat tunneln, wodurch das Adsorbat ein negatives Molekül-Ion bildet. Das angeregte Elektron wird inelastisch in einen unbesetzten elektronischen Zustand des Metallsubstrats zurückgestreut, wodurch das Adsorbat mit Energie angereichert zurückbleibt. Wenn das Elektron genügend lange in der Resonanz bleibt, kann das angeregte Molekül genügend Energie aufnehmen, um zu desorbieren oder die Energiebarriere überwinden, die zur Brechung von chemischen Bindungen nötig ist. Man kann also die Bildung einer negativen Ionen-Formation als den Startpunkt für viele lichtinduzierte dynamische Oberflächenprozesse ansehen. Stimuliert durch die Ergebnisse von Experimenten, bei denen durch Femtosekunden-Laserpulse induzierte Desorption beobachtet wurde, kam es zu mehreren theoretischen Untersuchungen von durch angeregte Elektronen induzierten Reaktionen.
