About the Book
Zen is about a dream I had in 2010, I stayed against writing it because of a certain movie that came out right about the time that I wanted to start writing the story. What is Zen? Zen is a very small robot with special abilities, and the abilities get better, when Zen is met up with a Zen master, The reason it is called the war of the worlds, is because the battles are Zen and the beast, are between beast from another planet, that comes to earth seeking food. the earth has seen it's challenges at this point, the story is cast after the fallout war, where each of the major technology giants sent rockets to destroy the other, wiping out most of humanity, and destroying most parts of the planet, and injuring the planet to the point where it's about to self destruct. Most of the chapters here are within one page, that is because, I like to write short stories, so for me to put out something beyond a hundred pages is unusual. this is set to be a fast read, it does have some challenging points, and the action within gets kind of weary, and there is much selfishness, and jealousy, and rage going on in the work as well. the people are fighting to exist, and to exceed the others expectation, the only real problem, the robots they make are crappy, but Zen comes in as a well made bot, from an unusual material.
About the Author: Greetings, I am so pleased that you have taken the time to read. Reading is beneficial to your health, as wisdom is poured out through reading, even as this is a fictional work, reading has it's benefits. For me, writing has kept me alive. Doctors have told me on three occasions that I had within three months to live, and each time, I came back fighting. Who am I? I am the son of the late Elder Ollie Fobbs and Jennie Melton (Fobbs), I have three brothers that are still living, they are Michael Fleming, Tommy Fobbs, and Robert Fobbs, my only sister passed a few years ago, her name is Sherry Fleming. I have one son, who goes by the name of Andy Reid, he has two daughters at present, they are Ashleigh, who is the oldest, and Jade Reid of Richmond vicinity. I was ordained and licensed in 1980's, joined the Army in 1988, which took me to Germany, where I was stationed in Mainz Gonzemheim, I was there for almost two years. The military did me wrong, and I wound up on my way back to Richmond Virginia, with all of my benefits being taken away, including my college fund which was fully paid for, they took it away. At present, I am on my third marriage, the first was in the early 1980's to Robinette General, then in 1988 to Joyce Smith, and now I am happily married to LaVonia Boatwright Fobbs. While driving tour buses in the early 1990's with Groome Transportation, I wound up at a Pastors Conference, where I was told that God has blessed me with a name of power and authority. The Bishop in question told me that my name first off meant servant, and secondly, it meant Apostle. I told this story to several of my apostle friends, and they insisted that I start using the title apostle, at that point, I was using Reverend. There is a group that I associate with at the River Birch Lodge in Winston Salem, we meet there on Friday mornings, and we chat about how we can help each other as men, on any given day, somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 to 300 men meet there every Friday morning. I was born in Halifax County North Carolina, moved to Richmond when I was four, went to the Richmond Public Schools, and after graduation, I began driving across the nation. I have had many, many jobs in my life, and I have had a ton of let downs in my life too, all in all, the Lord was able to reveal things to me that has taken me to places I never dreamed of. I am so thankful for my present wife LaVonia, from the very beginning she has been a real God send to my life, and life is good.
