About the Book

"Zenu, The Blue Velociraptor" introduces us to Zenu, a young velociraptor who is beginning his journey into adulthood. He lives with his father, mother and two siblings in the village of Osgolia, in the region called Chigolia (modern-day Mongolia). The story takes place over 75 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period (late-Campania and early-Maastrichtian ages of the Cretaceous period).

The velociraptor is known colloquially by the other Lizadrous (dinosaurs) in the region as SharpClaw, but its ancient name is the Velkianous. An adult Velkianous is referred to as a Velkian, while the young Velkianous are referred to as Veloas. Their speech is that of Modern-Velkian; however, many words and phrases from their ancient tongue of Ancient-Kjhlvelkian are kept alive by many Velkians (and a few Veloas) as it is rich with meaning, spirituality and has an undeniable resonance and energy connection with the soul, which was still referred to by the Velkianous in Ancient-Kjhlvelkian as the Ashva.

Zenu is a unique Velo in a few ways. While the vast majority of Velkians had green feathers (albeit each did vary in green hues), Zenu's feathers had various hues of blue lined from tail to beak, with some green feathers on his inner neck and on the end of his jawline. Zenu was also unique in that he stutters and has what modern-medical professionals would classify as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) that not only haunts his mind but presents a daunting task to his life.

As part of attaining adulthood, Zenu and other Veloas of his maturity level, including his two best friends, Tsago and Saura, attend Yeshklevin, which is a famous Velkianous hunting school, also known as the Cretaceous School of Hunting. Yeshklevin is dedicated to the theoretical instructing and physical preparation of hunting their prey: the HornedFace (Protoceratops) and ThinRunner (Shuvuuia).

While at Yeshklevin, this trio, well the ever-friendly Saura, befriends the quirky, intrepid, and carefree Kasnia. Zenu and Tsago were not so keen on allowing Kasnia to join their group at Yeshklevin, let alone befriend her. But, life has a mysterious, if not serendipitous way of shifting one's existence for their own good. Unbeknownst to Zenu, befriending Kasnia would shift his life, his dreams in unfathomable, eternal ways.

"Zenu, The Blue Velociraptor" is an enchanting tale of friendship, courage, engaging with the spiritual, life, death, as well as the eternal battle to overcome the vicissitudes of existence while having fun, adventure (and some misadventure) and learning along the way.
