Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Arbeit, Betrieb, Organisation und Wirtschaft, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Fresenius Idstein, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Studie behandelt die Anforderungen junger Arbeitnehmer an ihre Vorgesetzten. Es wurden die Führungspräferenzen von Young Millennials bzw. der Generation Y erfasst. Hierbei wurde sich auf Führungsverhalten im Sinne von transaktionalen und transformationalen Führungsstilen und Führungspersönlichkeit im Sinne bestimmter Persönlichkeitsattribute konzentriert. Diese wurden mit Hilfe des Multifactor Leadership Questionnaires und der Checkliste of Admired Leaders erfasst. Die Stichprobe umfasste nach einer Bereinigung 127 Personen. Die Forschungshypothesen bezogen sich auf Geschlechts- und Altersunterschiede bei der Präferenz transaktionaler und transformationaler Führung. Während sich bei den ermittelten Führungspräferenzen keine Anzeichen für Geschlechtsunterschiede ergaben, zeigten sich signifikante Altersunterschiede bei den Präferenzen transaktionaler und transformationaler Führung. Jüngere Untersuchungsteilnehmer zeigten für transformationale Führung höhere Präferenzen als ältere Untersuchungsteilnehmer. Die für Führungskräfte wichtigen Persönlichkeitseigenschaften wurden zudem auf eine Zuordnung zum weiblichen oder männlichen Geschlecht überprüft, um zu ermitteln, ob männliche Eigenschaften vor weiblichen Eigenschaften bei Führungskräften präferiert wurden. Dies war in der vorliegenden Untersuchung nicht der Fall, vielmehr zeigte sich eine Präferenz von weiblichen und neutralen Eigenschaften bei Führungskräften vor männlichen Eigenschaften. Es ergaben sich Implikationen für die weitere Erforschung von alters- und generationenspezifischer Führungspräferenzen am Arbeitsplatz.
