Chr., dass es einen Zusammenhang zwischen Führung und Gesundheit gibt. Er erklärte schon damals, dass eine sorgfältige Führung verhindern kann, dass Gesunde in Zukunft erkranken. In unserer heutigen sehr schnelllebigen Arbeitswelt, welche immer mehr geprägt wird durch eine Vielzahl verschiedener Einflüsse, wie Globalisierung, Digitalisierung, Flexibilisierung von Arbeitgebern und Arbeitnehmern sowie dem Wunsch nach einer ausgeglichenen Work-Life-Balance, gewinnen psychosoziale Belastungen und Burnout immer mehr an Bedeutung. Sowohl von Führungskräften als auch von Mitarbeitern wird in der heutigen Arbeitswelt einiges verlangt; die Prozesse werden digitaler und immer schneller. Man arbeitet nicht mehr nur im Büro, sondern auch von Flughäfen, in der Bahn oder von Zuhause, praktisch überall. Arbeitnehmer sind durch Smartphones ständig erreichbar. Durch flexiblere Arbeitszeitmodelle, wie Gleitzeit oder Vertrauensarbeit verschwimmen die Grenzen zwischen Berufs- und Privatleben. Diese und noch weitere Umwelteinflüsse zerren an den Kräften der heutigen Arbeitnehmer. Einige Unternehmen sowie Führungskräfte sind heute trotzdem noch der Annahme, dass Erkrankungen wie Burnout ein Problem des Einzelnen darstellen und Burnout-Prävention nicht als Aufgabe des Arbeitgebers angesehen werden kann oder soll. "Nicht überall hat sich schon die Erkenntnis durchgesetzt, dass die körperlichen, geistig-seelischen und sozialen Faktoren, die bei der Arbeit wirken, einen überaus starken Einfluss auf die Sicherheit, Gesundheit, Leistungsfähigkeit und Leistungsbereitschaft der Beschäftigten
