Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2000 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: eins, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Theater- und Filmwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: HS: Fiktion - Authentizität - Narration, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit der Figurenkonzeption in Alexander Kluges 1965/66 gedrehtem Film "Abschied von gestern (Anita G.)" erscheint problematisch, überwindet er doch in eigensinniger Vermischung 'fiktinaler und dokumentarischer Formen' gängige Genrezuweisungen, bricht Wahrnehmungsmuster und Beschreibungsmodelle auf. Unter dem Etikett des Essayfilms subsumiert, oszillieren die Figuren als markierendes Element von Fiktion und Nicht-Fiktion zwischen Rolle und Selbstdarstellung: Ist der Figuren-begriff für die Nicht-Fiktion dann überhaupt anwendbar? Überzeugen 'dokumentarische Formen' nicht gerade durch die Präsenz 'realer' Menschen, die Authentizität 'wirklichen' Lebens? Wie überhaupt kann ein Nebeneinander von Fiktionalem und Dokumentarischem bestehen und funktionieren, will es sich auf die inhaltliche Präsentation durch Personen in Absetzung zur formalen Ausgestaltung durch dramaturgische und technische Mittel beziehen? Fragen, die ins Zentrum einer Debatte der Postmoderne über das Wesen und den Status der 'Bilder des Wirklichen' weisen, stützen sie doch bedingt den Trugschluß, mit dem die Filmgeschichte einst begann: Der Bestimmung von Nicht-Fiktion und Fiktion, vorstrukturiert durch die angeblich nicht-narrativen, rein abbildenden 'Protofilme' der Lumières in Polarisierung zu den filmischen Illusionen eines Méliès; Ausgangspunkt einer Entwicklung, die ihren Höhepunkt früh in der Gleichsetzung von Nicht-Fiktionalem mit Dokumentarfilmen und Fiktionalem mit Spielfilmen fand. Eine Weiterentwicklung blieb aus: Die Marginalisierung des Dokumentarfilms gegenüber dem Sehgewohnheiten prägenden Genre des fiktionalen Films verursachte eine anhaltende Vernachlässigung innerhalb des wissenschaftlichen Diskurses mit der Folge,
